New Designer To Watch

Nov

I woke up at 4:30 today and have already had a few cups of coffee, so I am having a very hard time getting my hands to keep up with the pace of my brain right now!  I am just brewing (get it coffee/brewing?!?) with excitement for a new designer that I found, believe it or not, in the ads for Bust Magazine.  This gal speaks to every little facet of my heart–she likes retro design, she interned for Nanette Lepore, her garments are fair trade, she uses natural fibers (curse you poly blends!) and she also donates 5% of her profits to Habitat for Humanity.  I feel like we need a moment of silence to celebrate the lovely Katherine McConnell.

Here are a few of her dresses that could also be in the running for my celebration week. (Although you do realize that I am going to purchase said dress at the last minute and probably have to overnight it just so I can wear it!)

Another Reason To Love Etsy!

Twitter really has been my saving grace when it comes to finding amazing stores on Etsy.  The site is a gold mine of loveliness, but there is so much fool’s gold that you need to dig through to find the real deal…I can’t say I always have the time or patience to do that.  Instead I do my weekly key searches and then I rely on my lovely twitter gals to help me out. Yesterday I clicked on a rare and delectable treasure….

And that treasure is Hindsvik! The store is run by a couple who appear to have my taste/style, only way better.  They like clocks, lamps and the color blue, so I like them!  They also are such a prime example of what I like in an Etsy shop; great lighting, clear photos, simple props and quality products.  So to you Hindsvik, I say HIGH FIVE!
