Glass Action
I love glasses! I love every shape and size. If I had enough cabinet space I would have a different size/style for every beverage. I like to use little tiny guys for my juice, medium size for my milk and water and obviously very large ones for my beer! I think this stems from my grandma. She had a similar pattern when we were growing up–she was very into appropriate “tools for the job”. A couple of years back, I hosted a dinner party and I ended up bringing like 6 boxes of equipment and supplies from her house so I could feed 18 people in style–right down to the olive holders and salt pinchers! My grandma has the holy grail of vintage paraphernalia–the real stuff from the 40′s and 50′s that has been dutifully cared for and properly stored.
Last night I found a fun sight that has similar vintage goods in amazing condition Retro Redheads. What a cute name, right? I enjoyed all the linens used in the photographs. The glasses below were definitely my favorite. They look so sweet and inviting–I can just imagine drinking a nice tasty glass of homemade lemonade.

Now I know that vintage is not for everyone–but a lot of these styles are being re-made again. What’s old is new! For our wedding we registered at Fishs Eddy. If you do not live in NYC, you probably have never heard of them. This store is amazing! The entire store is probably only a few hundred square feet and I could spend hours in there. Sadly they are a little behind on the whole online sales model. I had to send guests my registry in an excel file and they had to call the store while a sales person manually looked for the goods. (Thank you, Shanda!) I guess that is cool in an old-school kind of way, but I am spoiled in the fact that I like to have the best of both worlds–style of years past and technology of years present! But, you just can’t find another place that is rocking out stuff like Fishs Eddy! The lily of the valley glasses below are the ones that I received for my bridal shower from my friend Jenny. I posted a few other styles that I think would also be good fun
(especially the Strip Tea.)

Ooh, I *love* glasses. I’m always finding sets in thrift stores and bringing them home. My cabinet is getting a little too full, but pretty glasses are worth it.
Had some problems with the links on this post–all is resolved now!
